Cellulite affects most women regardless of their size or the number on the scale. The visible rippling of the skin is caused by fat pockets in the connective tissues compressed by collagen bands between the skin and muscles. These visible divots are unsightly and frustrating, especially because diet and exercise make little to no difference in cellulite appearance. Dr. David Horvath provides various cellulite treatments that can smoothen dimpled skin, such as QWO, PRP treatments and Sculptra or Radiesse injectables.
Horvath Aesthetics offers minimally invasive and non-surgical treatments. Our board-certified plastic surgeon has more than 25 years of experience treating Philadelphia patients and is an aesthetics expert who can tailor your procedure or session to your needs.
QWO for Buttock Cellulite
QWO is unlike any other injectable on the market, and it’s the only FDA-approved injection indicated for cellulite, specifically dimpling on the buttocks. The injectable is made with collagenase clostridium histolyticum-aaes, and this material targets the fibrous septae (or collagen structures) that pull the skin down and cause the visible bulging cellulite. QWO is recommended in a series of three treatments three weeks apart.
Sculptra or Radiesse Injectables for Smoother Skin
These versatile dermal fillers offer benefits that go beyond facial lines and wrinkles. Sculptra and Radiesse stimulate collagen production to smoothen skin irregularities caused by cellulite. Sculptra uses poly-L-lactic acid to increase volume and provides scaffolding for the deep skin tissues to fill in skin depressions with new collagen over time, with visible results about six weeks after the treatment. This new collagen is different from the collagen bands that compress the subcutaneous fat and fills in the divots created by cellulite. Radiesse uses calcium hydroxyapatite (CaHA) to elevate the affected area and increase collagen for continued results that reduce cellulite by adding volume with Ca-HA and natural collagen.
PRP Cellulite Treatment
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) contains healing growth factors that are beneficial for medical and cosmetic problems. PRP is isolated from a sample of your blood and then re-introduced into the body area with cellulite. The blood platelets activate your body’s healing response to form new collagen for smoother skin and less visible dimpling. PRP for cellulite floods the skin tissues with blood platelets, leading to firmer skin and reduced cellulite.
Cellulite treatment has come a long way in recent years, and women (and some men) don’t have to struggle with unsightly skin dimpling any longer. QWO, PRP, Sculptra and Radiesse provide noticeable improvements for cellulite without downtime or an invasive procedure.
